Inflation and deflation are handled by separate flat valves for ease of use. Simply open the deflate valve and then fold the mat up into thirds and squeeze out the majority of the air. You can then proceed to roll the mat up tightly from the non-valve end and any remaining air will be expelled from the open valve.
